The Divided Heart onsite seminar is a counseling seminar brought to your local church designed to assist churches with dealing with the heart of the matter: the day-to-day issues at hand and the baggage we have become accustomed to carrying day in and day out. Let’s face it; we’re all “doing life” together and can use a little help sometimes. This is where this empowering onsite seminar comes in. The Divided Heart onsite seminar will help you face the defense mechanisms that hinder true emotional healing. The seminar uses Steve Fair's book, The Journey into the Divided Heart, as a tool and manual for the seminar.

The Journey into the Divided Heart is a challenging and probing Christian counseling guide that will push you spiritually to a new level of taking responsibility and defining your personal role in the process of healing your hurting heart. Although it is highly practical and spiritually directive, The Divided Heart seminar also zooms out to give you a convicting overview of the human heart. In its state of being divided, our hearts tend toward God as its healer and toward itself as provider and protector simultaneously. This state of internal division keeps us from the freedom that Jesus already purchased for us on the cross from strongholds such as depression, fear, anger, and broken relationships. You will learn your defense mechanisms, be led in decision-making, journaling, and prayers, and you will be given an overview of nine powerful biblical and clinical interventions that will lead you to live “life to its fullest” (John 10:10).

The Journey into the Divided Heart is a must-read manual for anyone looking for true lasting change in counseling, as well as a role-defining text for counselors and pastors who are looking to integrate cutting-edge clinical counseling with an unwavering, faith-based, non-religious approach to working with the brokenhearted.

Steve Fair is a licensed social worker (LMSW) and certified addiction counselor who has worked in the mental health and substance abuse field for over twenty-four years, specialized in working with many diverse populations. Mr. Fair earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Michigan and started his career working with substance abuse disorders, attention deficit disorder assessment and treatment, and play therapy with kids. Mr. Fair then oversaw clinical services for some of the most challenging cases in our county at a set of crisis residential homes for children and teenagers. He has a passion for helping marriages and families, focusing on the scriptural premise that before we look at “fixing” our relationships, we need to first individually “take the plank out of your own eye, before you can see the speck in your brother’s.” Steve has seen great success with some of the most treatment-resistant cases when his clients allow him to integrate their faith into the healing process. Mr. Fair is trained in inner-healing prayer models and helps people heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually!
